The Hojack Trail is Webster’s premier Rails-To-Trails trail, recently improved with a grant from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr Trails Maintenance Fund and matching funds from a generous private donor.
Part of the former Hojack Railroad, the trail runs almost five miles from the northwest of town to the southeast, between Lake Road and Phillips Road. Except for a slight grade, the trail is mostly flat, making it popular for biking, as well as running, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
Connections to other trails can be made from the Hojack, including the Vosburg Hollow Nature Trail, John Ungar & Michael A. Johnson Trails, Charles E. Sexton Memorial Park, and the Bird Sanctuary Trail. Several of these trails, in turn, offer connections to other trails. The recent addition of several benches along the trail offer convenient rest stops, and restroom facilities are available in season at Charles E. Sexton Memorial Park.
