RG&E became the owner of the major portion of the 100 foot wide right of way in 1977. Then, in 1997, the Town of Webster, the Webster School Board, and Friends of Webster Trails cooperated to sign a lease for use of the land for a trail from Holt Road westward. East of Holt Road, the Hojack Line is still used to bring in supplies and ship out products.
