Anything Hunt
Adapted from Family Fun magazine
Materials Needed:
- Items like rocks, acorns, pine cones, shells, wood, and sticks (Note: minimum 42 required, amount will need to increase depending on the number of kids participating). Be sure these items collected can be painted.
- Nontoxic, acrylic paints in gold, red, green, purple , blue and white
- Paintbrushes
Step One:
Send the kids out on a hunt to find the items needed.
Step Two:
Once all items are collected lay them out on a sheets of newspaper and have the kids paint them as follows.
- 2 gold
- 4 red
- 6 green
- 8 purple
- 10 blue
- 12 white
Each color carries a different number of points: gold - 10 points, red - 8 points, green - 6 points, purple - 4 points, blue - 2 points, white - 1 point.
Step Three:
Once the painted items have dried have an adult hide them in the house or around the yard. Let the hunt begin -- the winner is the person who collected the items worth the most points. This person is designated "Treasure Hunter Extraordinaire". The title is held until the next hunt!!
