In 2007 the Town of Webster added 23 more acres of land to Webster’s Open Space Plan. The town purchased the land from Gene and Jeanne Midnight of Midnight Trail, Webster. The area is now known as the Midnight Trail.
The entrance to the Midnight Trail is via Webster Park at 999 Lake Road (the Midnight Trail is south of the Webster Park camp sites and the Mohawk Lodge). You can also park at the Whiting Road Nature Preserve (the trailhead parking lot is located on the west side of Whiting Road, 1.1 mile north of Klem Road and 0.6 mile south of Lake Road) and walk east on the trail that connects from Whiting Road to Webster Park’s West Loop and the Mohawk lodge. Signs are posted to assist you.
Once you are on the Midnight Trail you will find wide paths that meander in a loop around primarily old beech wood growth. There are several interior trails that bring you to a picnic area (please, carry-in/carry-out your picnic trash). These trails are great for walking, running, cross-country skiing, and snow shoeing.
Terrain: Mostly level with a couple moderate slopes
Level of difficulty: Easy
